The Privacy Policy at the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel (AFOC&H) explains to how and what type of personal data we collect, and how and why we use your personal data. It also provides the option available for you to access, update and manage your personal data that we use.

What information does the AFOC&H collect about me?

We collect basic information from you when you use our contact forms and may include, for example, your name, date of birth, nationality, gender, postal address, email address, phone number, credit card number, details of the preferences you express to us during your stay at the hotel (e.g. room type), dietary requirements, and technical information from the devices you use to access our website.
We also use cookies on our websites and on third party websites to collect information about interactions, behavior and usage of our services on the world wide web.

How does the AFOC&H use information about me?

We use information about you to deliver, improve, update and enhance the services we provide to you.

To contact you if you have requested to use our recreational facilities or have made a booking at one of our restaurants or the hotel.

To contact you to provide you with information about AFOC&H’s services and latest offers including tailoring such information to your interests (e.g. based on your browsing history and purchase history), provided you have consented to this.

To process your payments and protect against fraudulent transactions.
To personalise your experience when you visit our website by remembering your account, settings and preferences or by delivering adverts that are most relevant to you and your interests.

Does AFOC&H share or transfer information?

We may share your personal information with any member of the AFOC&H in order to enable you to request our services, to process your payments, understand your preferences, send you information about products and services that may be of interest to you and conduct the other activities described in this Privacy Policy.

How long do you keep my personal information for ?

[a] We will retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

[b] Personal Information will be retained during the applicable statute of limitations period for any disputes or liabilities that may arise as a consequence of the processing of that information (which is up to 15 years in the UAE). Once potential actions are time barred we will proceed to delete the personal data. In any other circumstances, we will only retain your personal information for a shorter or longer period as required by any applicable law.

How will you use my email address?

We will use your email address to communicate with you regarding your inquiry, your room or restaurant reservation, and, if you have opted in to receive information about upcoming activities or offers at our hotels, informational email messages. You can choose not to receive email communications from usat any time by sending an email to privacypolicy@afoc.mil.ae.

Who else other than AFOC&H could access my stored personal information?

AFOC&H is obliged to cooperate with government and law enforcement officials to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose information about you to government or law enforcement officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (such as subpoena requests), to protect our property and rights or the property and rights of a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we consider to be illegal or unethical. To the extent we are legally permitted to do so, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in the event that we are required to provide your personal information as part of a legal process.

Whilst we have put in place physical, electronic and managerial procedures to secure and safeguard your personal information, we will not be held responsible for any unauthorised access by third parties and we cannot guarantee that the Personal Information provided by you or that is transmitted via the Website or by e-mail is totally secure and safe. However, as the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our Website and you provide it at your own risk.
